What type of bassinets do we hire?

Our bassinets are the preferred unit used in most maternity hospitals across the country. All our bassinets have large wheels with brakes fitted.
The dimensions are as follows:
Bassinet dimensions: H - 100 cm. L - 84cm. W - 53cm.
Mattress dimensions: H - 5cm. L - 66cm. W - 32cm.
Twin unit dimensions: H - 102 cm. L - 90cm. W - 75cm.

Is the mattress included?
Yes, the matress in included and are frequently replaced for new.

What type of linen do you need?
A standard pillowcase fits over the mattress, then a cot sheet folded in half or baby blanket over the top. The baby would usually be wrapped in a cuddly.

How long do babies stay in the bassinet?
An average 3.6kg baby usually lasts 1½ to 2 months for sleeping.
For smaller or premmie babies or for bathing we offer a special 3 month rate.

What condition are the bassinets in and how are they cleaned?
All our bassinets are in excellent condition and the mattresses are renewed regularly. The bassinets are hygienically cleaned and disinfected with anti-bacterial spray between each use and are delivered in a plastic dustcover for your protection.

How far ahead do we need to book?
We recommend you pre-book your bassinet. This ensures we have a bassinet to delivery to you at the time you bring your baby home.
If you have not pre-booked one of our bassinets, please allow 24-48 hrs notice to guarantee delivery prior to your baby arriving home.
